About the Farm
Background
Located in the foothills of the Berkshires, Edward and Anna Jensen purchased land in Granville in 1919, planting apple trees and starting a family. Their son, Edward Jr., expanded the farm by acquiring a neighbor's orchard, which became essential after hail damaged the original orchard. The farm, known as Mountain Orchard, has been passed down to Edward Jr.'s daughter, Christina, who now runs it with her mother, Anne, continuing the Jensen legacy.
Practices
The orchard features perfectly aligned blocks of trees, a testament to the meticulous care and dedication of the Jensen family. The unique environment of the Berkshire foothills contributes to the distinct flavor of the fruit grown here.
The Rest
Mountain Orchard offers a self-service roadside stand with various apple varieties, peaches, nectarines, and pears. They also host pick-your-own events in the fall, providing a scenic and enjoyable experience for visitors.
