About the Farm

Background

Located in Culpeper, VA, the farm spans 47 acres and is managed by the Hudson family. Known for their commitment to authentic, nutrient-dense food, they have been serving the community for over 12 years. The farm store, bakery, and cafe were once located in the historic State Theater but have since closed, with operations now focused on the farm itself.

Practices

The farm employs rotational grazing, moving animals daily to fresh pastures to prevent overgrazing and soil degradation. This method builds topsoil, preserves groundwater purity, and enhances wildlife habitats. Animals are raised without hormones, antibiotics, or genetically modified feed, ensuring they live in conditions that align with their natural behaviors and diets.

The Rest

The farm also offers a variety of baked goods made from freshly milled whole grains and organic ingredients. Their products include whole grain breads, cinnamon buns, apple hand pies, and dark chocolate chip cookies. Additionally, they sell Switchel, a natural sports drink, and organic sodas. Visitors can purchase meats and eggs directly from the farm store, and the farm participates in the Culpeper Farmers' Market. The Hudson family is passionate about providing trusted, locally grown food and offers consulting on grazing practices.
