Located near Newville, the farm has established itself as a reliable source of certified organic raw milk and dairy products, along with pasture-raised meats and eggs.
Practices
The farm adheres to organic farming principles, ensuring that their Jersey cows are pasture-fed and regularly tested for diseases like brucellosis and tuberculosis. The cows' diet, rich in high-carotene pasture, gives the cheese its natural golden color. Free-range hens are housed in a mobile hen house and fed organic grain without antibiotics or hormones, resulting in large eggs with deep orange yolks. Pastured broilers, stewing hens, and turkeys are also fed an organic grain mix. Freezer beef comes from pasture-finished cattle, and pastured veal is raised on whole organic cows' milk.
The Rest
Milk, yogurt, cheese, eggs, burger patties, and frozen broilers are available anytime, while beef, veal, and poultry require advance orders. The farm's dairy products meet the same standards as pasteurized milk through regular bacterial testing.
