About the Farm
Background
Ryan and Desiree, with backgrounds in crop farming and biology respectively, started their own farm north of Minneapolis in 2012 after managing a Minnesota sheep farm. Their first pastured broiler chicken was sold in July of that year, followed by eggs in September and pork in November. Initially raising 200 broiler chickens, 50 laying hens, and 8 pigs, they have since grown their farm, continually expanding their knowledge and practices.
Practices
The farm employs regenerative farming practices, focusing on soil health as the foundation of their operation. They avoid chemicals, GMOs, and antibiotics, instead using natural methods to fertilize and maintain their pastures. Animals are frequently moved to fresh pasture, forage-fed, and given no-soy supplemental feed if necessary. Their holistic approach ensures that healthy soil leads to healthy plants, animals, and ultimately, nutrient-dense food for humans.
The Rest
The farm offers delivery in the St. Paul/Minneapolis, St. Cloud, and Mora areas, and is open for visitors and product pickups. They maintain an active online presence through their website, Facebook, and Instagram, providing more details and pictures of farm life. Customers can sign up online to shop for pasture-raised products and choose convenient pickup locations.
