New England Bonsai

New England Bonsai Gardens began in 1987 as a single rented greenhouse and has grown into an eight-acre nursery in Bellingham, MA, featuring eight greenhouses and the largest Bonsai Tree & Supply collection on the East Coast. Over 30 years in business, it has become a premier destination for bonsai enthusiasts, with over 4,000 active members and a reputation endorsed by Martha Stewart.

The nursery grows its own trees from seed and imports trees and cuttings from Asia, as well as sourcing bonsai from domestic growers on the West Coast and Florida. Each tree is meticulously cared for by expert staff under the guidance of Bonsai Master Jun Imabayashi. The facility emphasizes the art of bonsai, ensuring each tree receives daily hand watering and expert attention.

New England Bonsai Gardens hosts a variety of training sessions and workshops with bonsai experts, including entry-level courses for beginners. It is also the exclusive site for The Kaikou School of Bonsai, a two-year intensive study program. The nursery offers an extensive selection of tools, pots, and supplies, and prides itself on educating the public about bonsai.
