About the Farm
Background
Established in 2014, the farm is owned and operated by Mike and Lisel Record, who continue a family farming legacy dating back to Mike's father and grandparents in Morgan County. Mike transitioned from a career in software engineering to farming in 2008, driven by a desire for 'right-livelihood' and a deeper connection to community and the earth.
Practices
The farm adheres to USDA certified organic standards, avoiding GMOs and synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides. It operates as a small, regenerative farm deeply invested in stewarding the land and caring for the community. The focus is on producing high-quality, seasonal produce that reconnects people with real food and its source.
The Rest
Customers can join the Farm Share CSA, which offers four seasonal sessions, or shop at the honor system farm stand, Bethel Lane Farm Stop. The farm's produce is also available daily at the Rose Hill Farm Stop and at local farmers' markets. Mike and Lisel, along with their three children, manage the farm and engage with the community, emphasizing the importance of supporting local food economies.
