About the Farm
Background
The farm was established by two Auburn University alumni who, after twenty-two years, decided to set roots and build a farm north of Auburn and Opelika. They purchased over 30 acres of planted pines in 2014 and began developing the land into a farm and homesite. Initially experimenting with various farming techniques, they eventually settled on confined environment agriculture two years ago.
Practices
The farm employs confined environment agriculture, which allows for year-round cultivation by controlling temperature, humidity, and light. This method conserves resources and ensures a consistent supply of fresh produce. In the spring of 2020, they built a micro-green facility, followed by a mushroom facility, and are in the process of completing a greenhouse.
The Rest
The farm aims to provide fresh, nourishing food to the Auburn/Opelika community, focusing on superfoods like microgreens and mushrooms. Their products help meet the USDA's recommended daily allowance for vitamins, nutrients, and minerals. They offer a variety of flavors to mix and match for a healthy diet.
