About the Farm
Background
Established in the 1950s by Charlie Nickerson as an egg farm, the business transitioned over the years to focus on fresh turkey poultry and expanded to include fresh produce. In 1996, longtime employee Adrian Collins, a Texas native with extensive farming experience and a degree from UMass Amherst and the Stockbridge School of Agriculture, purchased the farm. In 2009, Holliston native Kevin Drake became a partner. Together, Adrian and Kevin have continued the mission of providing the freshest poultry and produce to their customers while being great stewards of the land and community.
Practices
The farm is committed to producing the freshest foods possible, from turkeys to fruits and vegetables, by practicing sustainable agriculture. They believe that locally grown foods are better for the environment and the consumer. Their farming philosophy emphasizes the importance of using best farming and environmental practices to ensure the health of the land and the quality of their produce.
The Rest
The farm offers a variety of products including turkeys, fruits, vegetables, smoked brisket, pulled pork, turkey breast, and spare ribs. They also have a picnic area available in September and grow pumpkins, apples, corn, and tomatoes. Their farm-to-table restaurant features homegrown turkey and vegetables, with special events like Smoker Tuesdays and BBQ Thursdays. Customers can shop in person or order online from their farm stand, which includes weekly produce boxes.
