About the Farm
Background
Celebrating its 25th year, the Park Slope CSA has been dedicated to bringing fresh, local produce to the community of Park Slope, Brooklyn. Coordinated by GreenSpace and hosted by the Garden of Union, this all-volunteer membership organization has established a strong connection between urban residents and rural farmers.
Practices
The CSA operates through a model that emphasizes community involvement and shared responsibility. Members are required to work shifts during the season, fostering a sense of ownership and participation. The produce is sourced from Windflower Farm in Valley Falls, NY, ensuring that the food is grown with care and attention to quality.
The Rest
Membership options include Full Shares and Every Other Week (EOW) Shares, with pick-ups scheduled every Thursday throughout the 22-week season. The distribution takes place at the Garden of Union, a community garden on Union Street. Any unclaimed shares are donated to City Harvest, supporting food security initiatives in the city.
