About the Farm

Background

Gardening, cooking, flowers, and teaching have been the passions of the founders for over 30 years. This year marks the first year of their business expansion, with the goal of growing organic produce and educating the community in Kansas City.

Practices

The farm grows a variety of heirloom and uncommon produce alongside standard vegetables, using high tunnels to maintain year-round production. They focus on organic methods and are currently replanting beds with cold crops. The farm features a diverse array of produce including 12 types of potatoes, 15 types of tomatoes, 5 types of eggplants, 15 types of peppers, 3 types of beets, 6 types of carrots, and various fruits such as huckleberries, elderberries, grapes, strawberries, muskmelons, watermelons, and ground cherries.

The Rest

The farm offers classes on container gardens, small space gardens, traditional gardening, and cylinder gardening. They also teach food preservation techniques such as canning, freezing, and dehydrating, and provide guidance on selling produce at farmers markets, stores, and restaurants. Future plans include expanding the garden to include mushrooms and additional fruits. The farm is committed to changing lives through growing, teaching, and selling produce.
