    About the Farm

    Background

Located in the heart of Tamarac, this nearly 1 acre fruit farm has dedicated itself to cultivating a wide variety of tropical fruits, with a particular focus on mangoes. Over the years, they have become known for offering roughly 30 different varieties of mangoes during the season, which typically runs from June to August.

    Practices

The farm emphasizes flavor over commercial traits, allowing most mangoes to ripen on the tree and picking them just before they would fall. This labor-intensive process involves twice-daily picking to ensure ripe mangoes are available nearly every day of the season. The calcium-rich soil, enriched over nearly a decade with organic tree trimmer mulch, contributes to the fruit's sweetness. While not organic certified, the farm employs bio-friendly practices, applying minimal external inputs such as a small amount of potassium and a light spray of copper, sulfur, and an EPA reduced risk fungicide at the beginning of the mango season. The remainder of the year, the mangoes grow pesticide-free.

    The Rest

The farm encourages potential customers to contact them via phone for prompt responses, as email requests may not be answered quickly. The fruit sold is the same that the family consumes, underscoring their commitment to quality and safety.
