About the Farm
Background
Red Wicket Farm has become known for its unique rainbow cartons of eggs, showcasing a spectrum of colors from white and cream to browns, greens, and blues. Over time, the farm has expanded its offerings to include rare Musquee de Provence pumpkins, Lebanese summer squash, heirloom tomatoes, and other seasonal produce.
Practices
The farm allows its hens to roam freely outside during the day, promoting a natural and healthy environment for the birds. This practice not only ensures the well-being of the hens but also contributes to the quality of the eggs produced. The farm also engages in the cultivation of rare and heirloom varieties of vegetables, emphasizing biodiversity and the preservation of unique plant species.
The Rest
In addition to fresh produce and eggs, the farm offers custom baked goods made with their own eggs. They provide fertile hatching eggs with a 48-hour notice and collaborate with local schools to take back chicks once hatched. Visitors are welcome to visit the hens by calling ahead for availability.
