About the Farm
Background
Built in the 1890s, this farm is operated by an 8th generational farmer and has become known for raising rare and endangered heritage breeds of livestock. Over the years, it has expanded to offer a variety of products including beef, pork, chicken, eggs, turkey, charcuterie, and pet treats, as well as goods from other local farms such as honey, fruits, vegetables, milk, cheese, yogurts, and butter.
Practices
Dedicated to improving the land, soil, plants, and wildlife through regenerative agriculture, the farm employs all-natural, chemical-free, hormone-free, antibiotic-free, and GMO-free methods. Animals are hand-raised and many are part of the Slow Foods Ark of Taste. The farm's practices encourage a diverse ecosystem, inviting wildlife such as herons, foxes, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, deer, bald eagles, and red-tailed hawks.
The Rest
Visitors can enjoy on-farm camping with amenities like water and 20 AMP electric hookups. The farm offers a variety of activities including farm tours, wildlife watching, and swimming in a 30,000-gallon saltwater pool. The farm store is open on Saturdays from 9-11am, and products can be ordered online for pickup. The farm also collaborates with local partner farms to provide additional high-quality products.
