About the Farm
Background
Both Ryan and Arianna grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and moved to Taylorsville, NC in 2020, where they purchased the property. Ryan, a first-generation rancher, balances his full-time job in software development with his passion for regenerative dairy. Arianna, a fifth-generation rancher, focuses on digital infrastructure, social media, animal care management, and homeschooling their three daughters.
Practices
The ranch follows regenerative agriculture principles, emphasizing the importance of being good stewards of the land and allowing animals to work it naturally. They avoid harmful agricultural practices like using pesticides and fertilizers that reduce biodiversity. Their chickens are rotated behind cows to access new pastures regularly, helping to break down cow patties and maintain healthy pastures. The chickens are fed natural layer pellets soaked in clabbered raw milk, which minimizes the need for conventional feed.
The Rest
The ranch operates as a Private Membership Association and is not open to the public. They also run a homeschool co-op and emphasize the benefits of raw milk for both humans and animals.
