ReRide Ranch

The Sandberg Ranch, locally known as ReRide Ranch, was established in 1897 by the Sandberg family. Originally, the ranch boasted an orchard of over 2000 apple trees, which were harvested and transported to Los Angeles via the Old Ridge Route in the early 1900s. Some of these original apple trees, now estimated to be 80 to 85 years old, still thrive and produce apples without irrigation or pruning.

The remaining apple trees in the 'back 80' grow and produce fruit naturally, without the aid of irrigation or pruning. This approach highlights a reliance on the natural resilience and adaptability of the trees.

ReRide Ranch is situated just an hour from downtown Los Angeles, located among the oak and pine trees of Liebre Mountain. Today, the ranch maintains a small mixed fruit orchard.
