About the Farm
Background
Rocky Run Farm was established with the goal of improving the lives and health of its owners, the earth, and future generations. The farm is known for its sustainably grown produce and pasture-raised eggs, and has a unique connection to local cuisine through one of its owners, Isaiah Allen, who is the Executive Chef at The Eddy Pub in Saxapahaw, North Carolina. This relationship enhances the farm-to-table experience for both the pub and the farm.
Practices
Rocky Run Farm employs a five-year crop rotation and organic methods for pest and disease control. The farm raises laying hens on pasture from heritage breed chickens, which are fed USDA locally milled Certified Organic feed. All products are grown without synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or chemicals, ensuring a healthy and sustainable farming environment.
The Rest
The farm offers delivery to the Mill Creek neighborhood in Mebane and on-farm pick-up options. Customers can also find their products at the South Durham Farmers Market and the Carrboro Farmers' Market. Isaiah Allen's role as Executive Chef at The Eddy Pub promotes the farm's produce and eggs, enhancing the farm-to-table movement in the local community.
