Rugged Root Farms began offering pasture raised chickens and pork in 2018. Known for their dedication to raising animals in a natural environment, they have established a reputation for high-quality, ethically raised meat.

On 19 acres in Missouri, chickens roam freely outdoors, consuming fresh greens, bugs, and local GMO-free grain. The farm strictly avoids herbicides, pesticides, antibiotics, and drugs, ensuring the animals lead stress-free lives. Pigs, sourced from local breeders, are pastured and enjoy a diet of non-GMO feed, homestead seconds, and foraged foods like wild walnuts and acorns. They are rotated to fresh ground weekly, promoting cleanliness and health.

The farm emphasizes the natural behaviors of their animals, allowing pigs to root, play in the mud, and soak up sunshine. This approach not only benefits the animals but also enriches the soil and ecosystem of the farm.
