About the Farm

Background

Farming has been at the heart of the Schwebach Family for six generations. Don and Martha Schwebach, originally from Kansas, moved to New Mexico in 1960 after Don was offered the opportunity to lease a farm in the Estancia Valley. Impressed by the cool mornings and mountain views, Don decided to start his own farm there. Over the years, the family expanded and continued the farming tradition. Dean Schwebach, Don and Martha's youngest son, returned to the farm after a career as a public accountant to continue the family legacy. Today, Dean, his wife Ivellise, and their six children carry on the tradition of farming with gratitude for the land and the life it provides.

Practices

The farm grows high-quality, nutritious, non-GMO produce. The family emphasizes thoughtful production methods, ensuring that each member contributes to the farming process. Their philosophy is deeply rooted in gratitude for the land and the privilege of growing wholesome food for the community.

The Rest

Visitors can enjoy the farm by scheduling tours, picking their own vegetables, attending events, or shopping at the Farm Market. The farm offers a variety of products including sweet corn, pinto and bolita beans, vegetables, fruit, spring wheat, and corn for milling. Testimonials from customers highlight the freshness and quality of the produce, as well as the joy of receiving a diverse selection of items through the CSA program.
