About the Farm

Background

Matt and Jerica Cadman started farming in 2008 to secure steady access to truly pasture-raised meats, aiming to help heal Matt’s autoimmune intestinal disease. Since 2011, Matt has been off medications and symptom-free, and the farm now offers these healing foods to the local community. The farm has reached a milestone with the opening of their new Farm Store, providing a variety of nourishing foods including grass-fed dairy products, sprouted seed snacks, and locally-grown produce.

Practices

The farm employs intensive pasture management, rotating cows, chickens, and pigs across pastures to ensure they are never in the same place for long. Animals are raised without genetically modified feeds, chemicals, hormone ear tags, confinement, or unnecessary medications. They use no soy and no non-organic corn. The farm focuses on natural nutrient-density through rotationally-managed pasture, providing top-quality minerals year-round, adequate finishing time, and selecting pasture-thriving breeds. All animals are raised outdoors with exposure to forage, sunshine, and fresh air, and are humanely managed without routine medication or growth stimulants.

The Rest

The farm offers tours and farm days to reconnect families with their food sources, allowing visitors to see firsthand how their food is raised. They sell directly to the public from the ranch and through various drop-off locations in East Texas and Shreveport, and also offer home delivery via FedEx. The farm store provides a range of products including grass-fed yogurt, cheese, butter, sprouted seed snacks, locally-roasted coffee, and locally-grown produce. Customers can purchase meat by-the-piece or in bulk, and the farm encourages participation in food production through educational tours.
