About the Farm
Background
The Souza family has a long-standing history in the farming business, primarily as wholesalers. Over the years, they decided to expand their small farm stand into a larger operation to better serve their loyal customers and attract new ones. Known for their diverse selection of fruits, vegetables, and flowers, they have become a staple in the community, offering a wide variety of produce and plants throughout the growing season.
Practices
The farm actively cultivates approximately 12 acres of vegetables and 3 acres of apples, utilizing 5 greenhouses for bedding plants and hanging flower baskets. Additionally, they employ two high tunnels specifically for growing tomatoes and cucumbers. Their approach includes starting many of their plants in February to ensure they are ready for spring, and they continue to offer a variety of produce and flowers as the seasons change.
The Rest
The farm stand is open from Father's Day to October 31st, with varying hours throughout the week. The greenhouses are open year-round, offering a constant supply of plants and flowers. They also provide a CSA program, which is currently full for the 2023 season. Visitors can expect to find a wide range of products including blueberries, apples, peaches, various herbs, tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, broccoli, salad greens, zucchini, summer squash, eggplant, green beans, hot peppers, bell peppers, corn, beets, and flowers. The farm also offers unique items like herb container gardens and decorative plants for seasonal events.
