About the Farm
Background
Since 2003, the beekeepers began their journey with a beginner beekeeping class offered by the Beaver Valley Area Beekeepers' Association. Starting with just two colonies, their hobby expanded to over 25 colonies at one point. They are also co-founders of Burgh Bees, an organization dedicated to promoting beekeeping.
Practices
The beekeepers maintain a small-scale operation with no more than 10 hives in their backyard. Their approach to beekeeping offers a remarkable perspective on the natural world through the lives of honey bees, emphasizing a commitment to the challenges facing all pollinators.
The Rest
The beekeepers are deeply involved in the local beekeeping community and contribute to educational initiatives through Burgh Bees.
