Sunflower Savannah

Founded by Sam Wiseman with the assistance of her husband Bill, the farm spans 22 acres, with 10 acres actively farmed using natural methods. Known for its specialty crops and value-added products, the farm has become a staple at local markets, offering a variety of heirloom tomatoes, herbs, and other produce. The farm also participates in the Wwoof program, hosting volunteers who exchange labor for education, food, and accommodation.

The farm employs natural farming methods, utilizing animals to maintain ecological balance. The sheep and ducks are grass-fed, with supplemental feeding from windfall apples and pumpkins. The farm emphasizes hard work and blessings over luck, adhering to a philosophy rooted in the belief that diligent labor yields rewards. Regular maintenance includes winterizing barns and ensuring a clean environment for both animals and humans.

The farm is active in local farmers markets, particularly the Tower Grove Farmers Market, where they sell a variety of products including lamb, ducks, tomatillos, salsas, and pecans. They also produce and sell a wide array of heirloom tomato plants and other herbs. The farm's involvement in the Wwoof program highlights its commitment to education and community engagement.
