About the Farm

Background

The farm is designed to be a learning space where approximately 80 local youth work each year, growing a wide variety of produce, herbs, and flowers using sustainable, organic methods. The farm also offers classes for youth to earn school credit.

Practices

Youth at the farm grow produce using sustainable, organic methods, emphasizing good stewardship of the environment, plant and soil science, and healthy nutritional habits. They also develop entrepreneurial skills, learn about business management, customer service, and teamwork by running a CSA and a stand at local Farmers Markets.

The Rest

The farm participates in the Tualatin Farmers Market and the Tigard Farmers Market. Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares are available for $500, providing 16 weeks of fresh, seasonal vegetables, herbs, and flowers. Profits from the CSA and markets are used to pay the youth farmers and purchase tools and supplies for the farm.
