About the Farm
Background
Andrew and Madeleine Schwerin have been growing organic produce in Carroll County, Arkansas for more than 10 years. Benefiting from the deep loam of Keel's Creek bottom land, they have established a reputation for providing fresh produce through local farmer's markets and a Community Sponsored Agriculture (CSA) program.
Practices
The farm operates year-round using regenerative practices and minimal machinery. They grow a variety of organic produce and raise Katahdin sheep, which are rotated through the farm's surrounding woods and pastures. This integration of livestock and crops helps to maintain soil health and biodiversity. The produce boxes are loaded with fresh-picked organic produce and can be customized each week to highlight customer preferences.
The Rest
Weekly add-ons to the CSA boxes can include locally sourced lamb and mushrooms. The farm partners with Ashley Hill of Ozark Mountain Nibbly Organic Mushrooms (OMNOM) near the King's River for their mushroom supply. The farm's produce boxes often contain premium and limited crops, ensuring a diverse and high-quality selection for customers.
