About the Farm
Background
The farm has been dedicated to organic gardening, producing fresh vegetables and eggs. They faced a setback in July 2022 when their flock was lost to avian flu but have since recovered and resumed egg production.
Practices
All produce is grown either outside or in an unheated small greenhouse, ensuring it is seasonal. They harvest in the morning and stock a simple fridge in the barn, with produce typically selling out within one or two days. Organic approved sprays and fertilizers are used sparingly to protect beneficial insects. The chickens are raised with care, and their eggs are offered both nest clean and washed. Honey is produced in small volumes, with additional honey sourced from local beekeepers who use organic practices and do not migrate their hives.
The Rest
Updates on available produce are posted weekly on Instagram, or can be sent directly via email or text. The farm's honey is collected close to the cities of Bend, Tumalo, or Redmond.
