About the Farm

Background

Located on the Collins Farm, this 8-acre orchard and farm is co-owned by Emma Torbert, Katie Fyhrie, Kaitlin Oki, Yurytzy Sanchez, Neil Singh, Tess Kremer, and Kyle Chambers, who manage it cooperatively and through consensus. The farm's produce can be found at the Sacramento Farmers Market on Sundays and at various grocery stores in Davis, Sacramento, and the Bay Area. They also offer a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program and an Ugly Fruit Club for discounted fruit seconds.

Practices

Following regenerative principles, the farm employs no-till farming, rotational grazing, cover-cropping, and native pollinator and predator habitat restoration. Certified USDA organic by Yolo County, the farm also ensures a living wage for its farming crew.

The Rest

During the summer months, U-pick events are held for peaches, nectarines, and apricots, with schedules advertised on their Facebook and Instagram pages. Their fresh fruit and kitchen creations are available at several farmers’ markets, food co-ops, grocery stores, and specialty food stores in the Sacramento area and SF Bay Area.
