About the Farm
Background
The Tiny Home(stead) began its journey in 2018 when the owners moved into a tiny house they built on their property in Chugiak, AK. Starting with a flock of tiny chickens and a herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats, they expanded to include larger goats and KuneKune pigs. The farm offers a herd share program for raw goat milk, kefir, and cheese, as well as a share program for chicken and duck eggs.
Practices
The farm focuses on raising animals in a humane manner, ensuring they live in conditions close to their natural environment. The animals are provided with good food, comfortable housing, and ample green forage. This approach not only ensures the well-being of the animals but also results in healthy and delicious food for the family and the community.
The Rest
The farm offers various programs and events, including baby goat events and hands-on learning opportunities for those interested in homesteading. They also have young poultry and baby goats available for sale annually. The farm is accessible from Anchorage, Eagle River, Wasilla, and Palmer.
