About the Farm
Background
The family farm has built a loyal customer base over the years, known for providing lamb meat that customers claim lacks the after-taste of store-bought lamb. Customers return year after year to purchase whole lambs, appreciating the farm's commitment to quality and taste.
Practices
Sheep are exclusively grass-fed and unmedicated, raised in a natural environment. Lambs nurse from their mothers until about 8 months old and are humanely slaughtered at around 11 months. The farm also grows produce in the summer, using composted sheep manure as fertilizer and avoiding any chemical sprays.
The Rest
Customers are required to purchase a whole lamb and can specify their preferred cuts. A single lamb typically yields about 30 lbs of meat and costs $300. The farm's produce is sold to local businesses such as Sidewall Pizza and Swamp Rabbit Cafe.
