About the Farm
Background
In 1998, the Schmidt family started their poultry business and expanded in 2001 by acquiring Kackman’s Hatchery in Palmer, which had established one of the largest commercial chicken farms in Southcentral Alaska. Now, Triple D is the largest poultry supplier in the state and the only fresh turkey supplier. Managed by Anthony Schmidt, his wife Phyllis, and their five children, the farm has become a trusted source for fresh poultry products.
Practices
Triple D Farm maintains about 300 laying hens, producing over 100 dozen fresh eggs per week for local buyers. The poultry is naturally fed and free-roaming, ensuring high-quality products without chemicals and preservatives.
The Rest
Visitors are encouraged to tour the farm, including the chicks room, and ask questions about poultry farming. Although the farm is no longer in business, the website remains for historical purposes.
