About the Farm
Background
Leaving behind their city life and construction businesses, the family transitioned to full-time ranching on nearly 150 acres in Claremont, NC. Their journey began with raising various animals in their backyard, and now they produce food for the community. The name 'True Cut' reflects their commitment to authenticity in their farming practices.
Practices
The ranch employs rotational grazing and avoids feeding corn or wheat to their cows, which graze on grass and have access to Redmond salt and Thorvin kelp for minerals. Chickens are pasture-raised, moved frequently to fresh grass, and supplemented with non-GMO feed. Inspired by Joel Salatin, they focus on improving soil health to produce nutritious food.
The Rest
Products are available for pickup at the farm and various locations, including Conover, Newton, Mooresville, and Charlotte. They also sell through local stores like Lakeside Farmers Market, Fresh Market Produce, and Davis General Store. The ranch hosts events and encourages visitors to see their practices firsthand.
