About the Farm
Background
Located in Twin Falls, Idaho, Tubbs' Berry Farm has become a local staple for fresh produce and beekeeping supplies. Known for their u-pick strawberry and raspberry fields, the farm also offers a small CSA and various farm-made products. Over the years, they have expanded their offerings to include beekeeping equipment and classes, becoming an authorized Mann Lake Dealer and a go-to source for beekeeping enthusiasts in southern Idaho.
Practices
Tubbs' Berry Farm adheres to high agricultural standards, avoiding the use of chemicals in their fields. Although they do not seek organic certification, their farming practices meet or exceed organic requirements. The farm emphasizes growing crops that are safe enough for their children to eat directly from the field. Their honey is raw, unprocessed, and unheated, sourced from hives that are not chemically treated. This commitment to purity extends to their other farm-made products like lip balms and soaps.
The Rest
The farm operates a Farm School and hosts an annual Bee Days event, featuring hiving demonstrations, a petting zoo, and a gift shop. They offer beekeeping classes and sell package bees, making them a comprehensive resource for local beekeepers. Additionally, they rent out honey extraction equipment and provide mentorship through their beekeeping blog, offering year-round advice and updates.
