About the Farm
Background
In 2006, Turner Minx became involved in agriculture through 4-H, which eventually led to a career in farming. By 2014, Turner had left home to attend the University of Wyoming but soon transferred to an online program to focus on building a career in agriculture. This decision marked the birth of Turkle's Nest Farm. Initially offering lamb, poultry, and eggs in 2015, the farm planned to expand into vegetable production and participate in local farmer's markets by 2016.
Practices
Turkle's Nest Farm embraces a diversified approach to agriculture, raising a variety of animals including sheep, chickens, ducks, and guineas. The farm occasionally includes cattle and hogs in its operations. Vegetable cultivation is also a part of the farm's activities, often yielding enough produce to share with the community.
The Rest
Located in Stafford County, Virginia, Turkle's Nest Farm aims to provide fresh food to the community and encourage local participation in food production. The farm maintains an active presence on social media, particularly Facebook, to engage with its customers and the broader community.
