About the Farm

Background

Located in Cheney, WA, Twin Calves Ranch is owned and operated by Tom and Brenda Manley. The ranch emerged from a strong desire to know the origins of their food, leading to a commitment to providing high-quality, humanely raised beef to family, friends, neighbors, and customers. They offer bulk beef options as well as boxed beef for smaller families or those with limited freezer space.

Practices

The ranch employs rotational grazing to ensure soil nutrient replenishment, increased forage production, improved soil fertility, enhanced water retention, and reduced soil compaction. This method involves moving the herd from one grazing area to another to prevent overgrazing, thus maintaining a sustainable forage crop year after year. Additionally, they grow and harvest alfalfa/grass hay to feed their cows.

The Rest

Twin Calves Ranch also maintains a small flock of layer hens, cultivates multiple varieties of berries, and manages a large vegetable garden. Their commitment extends to providing locally grown, humanely raised, and naturally fed beef.
