About the Farm
Background
In February 1984, Kent and Juanita Wiggins, along with their three sons, planted their first blueberries on three acres. Over the years, they expanded to include blackberries, raspberries, and strawberries. The farm became a family endeavor, with even the grandchildren participating. In 2000, they sold the farm to retire and travel, but in 2017, they bought it back. The farm, originally named Plantation Pines Berry Farm and later Tyler Blueberry Farm, has been a place for family memories and community gatherings.
Practices
The farm provides a hands-on experience for visitors, offering baskets for picking blueberries and sunflowers. They recommend practical attire like closed-toe shoes and rubber boots for muddy conditions. The farm emphasizes the importance of family involvement and community connection, creating a welcoming environment for visitors to enjoy nature and fresh produce.
The Rest
Visitors can enjoy picnic tables for family meals, and refreshments and snacks are available for purchase. The farm encourages bringing coolers for longer trips and advises visiting early to avoid the heat. The farm operates Monday to Saturday with special evening hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
