About the Farm
Background
In 2013, the farm expanded from 5 acres to 76 acres, driven by the family's need to address food allergies and sensitivities. Initially focused on a single farm CSA model, they transitioned in 2019 to help start Local Choice Cooperative Producers, a multi-farm CSA cooperative. The farm is known for its commitment to producing food without synthetic pesticides or herbicides and raising animals without corn or soy.
Practices
The farm emphasizes raising produce without synthetic pesticides or herbicides and ensuring that animals are not fed corn or soy. They focus on providing their animals with a natural lifestyle, allowing them to enjoy sunshine, wander freely, and graze on pasture. The farm also works to protect and promote heritage breeds of livestock, using sustainable farming methods to protect the environment and improve the land for future generations.
The Rest
The farm welcomes thousands of visitors in September and October for Fall Fun activities, including a pick-your-own pumpkin patch, wagon rides, a corn maze, and a spooky trail. They sell their products at the Menomonie Farmers Market, through an on-farm stand, and offer delivery or pick-up options for online orders. The farm aims to nourish the community with healthy, local, naturally raised foods and shares their passion for agriculture through farm visits and educational experiences.
