About the Farm

Background

A small family farm dedicated to living simply with alternative energy and building systems, known for raising heritage breed pigs and offering a variety of farm products.

Practices

Using principles of permaculture, the farm raises Tamworth/Berkshire cross pigs that graze on pasture and woods, along with Ossabaw Island and Guinea Hog heritage breeds. Free-ranging hens follow their natural instincts by cleaning up behind livestock and eating bugs in the vegetable gardens. All animals, including occasional goats, lambs, and beef, are naturally raised.

The Rest

The farm offers whole and half pig shares, various cuts of pork, up to nine varieties of gourmet sausage and bacon, fresh pastured broiler chickens, and brown eggs. Additional products include soaps, vegetables, locally produced honey, and preserves, available at farmers markets and on the farm. Visitors are always welcome, and the farm store is expected to provide convenient pick-up.
