About the Farm
Background
Vista Knoll Farm, located 50 miles north of Dallas, began in 1972 with the purpose of raising Devon beef cattle for breeding stock. Known for their docile nature and efficient weight gain, these cattle have been a staple of the farm for decades.
Practices
The farm focuses on healthy nutrition for the cattle, grasses, and soil using natural fertilizer. The cattle are raised on native and Bermuda grass pastures without the use of grain, hormones, steroids, or antibiotics. Emphasizing low-stress and kind treatment, the steers roam freely and are managed to ensure tenderness and the presence of the A2 gene.
The Rest
Steers for beef are available by the half or whole, with delivery to a processor who specializes in aging and processing grass-finished beef. Customers work directly with the processor to customize their cuts, with guidance available for those new to the process.
