About the Farm
Background
Waihuena Farm, formerly known as Meleanas Farm, was established in 2008 on a three-acre lot on the North Shore of Oahu and has since expanded to a 20-acre parcel. The farm is known for its community-focused initiatives, including long-term rentals, residential internships, and various educational opportunities.
Practices
The farm employs organic farming methods and is dedicated to the principles of permaculture and agroforestry. They focus on maintaining a productive agroforestry system along their hillside and emphasize the importance of malama pono (taking care of the land) and malama aina (caring for the earth).
The Rest
Waihuena Farm offers a variety of activities and services, including a weekly CSA program, farmstand, yoga classes, and monthly potlucks. They also provide lodging options and host ecological living and permaculture workshops. The farm is a venue for events and educational programs for both children and adults, and they are always looking for passionate individuals to join their team.
