The farm is in the process of transitioning to organic farming.
Practices
For insect control, OMRI-listed products and cultural practices such as strip-tilling and maintaining habitats for predatory insects are employed. Fertilization currently relies on traditional fertilizers as recommended by Clemson Extension Soil Test results. Soil fertility is enhanced by planting nitrogen-fixing cover crops and incorporating large amounts of organic material.
