About the Farm

Background

Willows Bend Farm is known for its diverse range of heirloom and open-pollinated vegetables, along with old-fashioned flowers and perennials. The farm also features an emporium that offers bulk organic herbs and spices, teas, essential oils, aromatherapy products, and handcrafted items. Local artisans are given a platform to sell their wares on a consignment basis.

Practices

The farm operates without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides, starting all vegetable plants from seed. Embracing permaculture and forest farming principles, the farm aims to become as self-sustaining as possible. They are exploring aquaponic gardening and work in harmony with nature to control weeds and pests. Collaboration with Garden Gate Farm Alpacas includes sharing resources like piglets and alpaca fleece, which is sheared in the spring and available for carding, spinning, and felting.

The Rest

The farm offers individual consultations and custom blends of their products. Internships are available for those interested in gaining knowledge and experience in exchange for working on the farm. Visitors are encouraged to stop by and learn about the various practices and products offered.
