About the Farm
Background
Located in the Rocky Mountains of Park County, the ranch has become known for its high-quality lamb, pork, chicken, and eggs. The ranch has expanded its offerings to include a meat and egg CSA from May through October, and a small self-service store on the property for customer convenience.
Practices
The ranch raises all animals on natural grass pastures, avoiding corn to reduce saturated fat in the meat. They never use animal by-products, steroids, growth hormones, or antibiotics. Sheep, mostly hair varieties, are pastured daily except during lambing. Pigs are fed a non-GMO, no corn, no soy swine mix, with additional hay or alfalfa in winter, and are pastured in summer. Seasonal broiler chickens and laying hens are also fed non-GMO, no corn, no soy feed.
The Rest
The ranch encourages customers to visit and 'Meet Your Meat' at their self-service store, which operates on the honor system. Detailed directions to the ranch are provided, and customers are invited to call ahead for a tour.
