About the Farm
Background
Located in southwest Alamance County, this small family-owned and operated farm has dedicated itself to providing healthy local food. Known for its heritage breed chickens and commitment to preserving heirloom seeds, the farm has become a trusted source for nutritious and flavorful produce.
Practices
Fields, pastures, and animals are maintained without chemicals, utilizing chickens, pigs, and goats for natural insect and weed control. Heritage breed chickens consume locally milled organic feed along with bugs, grasses, and other forage, resulting in exceptional eggs. Livestock is rotated through pastures to manage parasites, distribute manure, and access fresh forage. Seeds are sourced from small companies committed to preserving heirloom varieties, ensuring no GMO seeds or products are used.
The Rest
Products are available through the Good Food Buying Club, an online farm store with local delivery and on-farm pickup from April to October. The farm also sells directly and donates eggs and excess produce to local food charities.
