About the Farm
Background
Woodapple Farms began as a 40-acre homestead in Floral City, Florida. In 2002, the farm acquired its first pair of Nubian dairy goats, which led to an abundance of goat’s milk. This surplus inspired the family to create natural, healthy soaps, motivated by their growing awareness of the harmful chemicals in everyday hygiene products. By November 2007, they were selling their handmade goat’s milk soaps at local markets. Over time, their product line expanded to include lip and skin balms, lotions, essential oil perfumes, and soy candles, all made with high-quality natural ingredients.
Practices
The farm employs natural and chemical-free methods in raising their livestock and growing muscadine grapes. Their goats are naturally raised, and the milk used in their soaps is never diluted with water. The soap-making process is done locally using the cold process method, which retains the glycerin in its natural state, unlike commercial soaps that extract glycerin for other products. The farm ensures honest and clear labeling, avoiding artificial colors, fragrances, and harmful chemicals.
The Rest
Woodapple Farms offers a wide variety of goat’s milk soaps, including both scented and unscented bars. Their products are known for their high-quality natural ingredients and the beneficial properties of goat’s milk, such as proteins, amino acids, minerals, and vitamins A & D. The farm also provides other natural products like lip and skin balms, lotions, essential oil perfumes, and soy candles. Visitors can explore their extensive selection of handmade goods on their website.
