About the Farm
Background
Located on 200 acres in the rugged Upper Peninsula of Michigan, this farm has been celebrating 30 years of providing high-quality, locally produced beef and pork. Known for their commitment to raising multiple generations of mother cows, bulls, and calves all born and bred in the U.P., they take pride in contributing to the Northwoods economy by keeping production costs local.
Practices
The farm employs regenerative agriculture methods, rotating animals twice daily through numerous grass pastures during the grazing season and feeding them hay and silage in the winter. They avoid hormone implants, steroids, and fed antibiotics, ensuring their cattle and pigs live stress-free, happy lives. The animals have free access to barns for shade and protection from the elements. The beef is finished on a mix of pasture, hay, haylage, and silage, which contributes to optimal fine marbling and tender meat. Cover crops, high diversity forage, and no-till practices are also utilized to regenerate the land.
The Rest
The farm offers beef by the quarter, half, or whole, as well as whole animal ground burger and grass-fed hamburger. Hay is available upon request. They are Beef Quality Assurance certified and emphasize the benefits of naturally raised beef, including nutrient-dense meat and humane animal handling.
