About the Market
Background
Founded in 1876, the North Market is Columbus, Ohio's only remaining public market. It has been a cornerstone of the community, providing a space for more than 30 merchants to offer a variety of fresh produce, meat, poultry, seafood, flowers, and other specialty food items. The market has a rich history of supporting local businesses and has been in continuous operation for over a century.
Practices
Bluescreek Farm Meats raises beef, lamb, pork, goat, and veal without growth hormones or antibiotics on their farm in Marysville, Ohio. North Market Poultry and Game offers fresh, free-range poultry, heritage breed chicken and turkey, as well as wild game, bison, and organic beef. Gatterdam Eggs has been selling fresh local eggs at the market since 1916.
The Rest
The North Market also features an international selection of freshly prepared foods, distinctive gifts, and personable service from owner/operators. The outdoor Farmers' Market operates every Saturday from May through November, and the Outdoor Artisan Market takes place every Sunday from May through October.
