About the Farm

Background

Jana, the founder, grew up as a 10-year member of Johnson County Indiana's 4-H Youth Development, where she showed goats and learned the value of farm animals. Inspired by her childhood experiences at the Indiana State Fair and her father's teachings about lanolin, she eventually created a successful skincare company. The business started with Goat Milk Soap and Lotion sold at the Shelbyville Farmer's Market and has grown immensely over the past five years. Today, their signature product, Triple B Hydrating Cream, is recommended by oncologists and dermatologists across the United States.

Practices

The farm focuses on raising Nubian goats, cows, and chickens, utilizing goat milk for both family consumption and product manufacturing. They strive to use locally grown ingredients and 'Made in the USA' packaging, ingredients, and promotional items. The farm emphasizes educating customers about the specific oils, butters, and essential oils used in their products.

The Rest

Bass Farms does not offer farm tours as their manufacturing facility is located on the farm. They offer over 100 skincare products, which are available nationwide and in nearly every Indiana hospital system. The farm provides a 40% discount on Triple B Hydrating Cream for patients undergoing radiation and chemotherapy. They also donate over $15,000 in products annually to the Community Health Network Foundation's Oncology Patient Assistance Fund. Bass Farms is a proud member of Indiana Grown and continues to innovate with new products like CBD-infused skincare items.
