About the Farm

Background

Good Seed Garden began with Lorraine, who transitioned from a background in Interior Design to farming after developing a passion for health and wellness. After participating in community gardening and small business ventures, Lorraine moved to Indiana, worked various jobs, and eventually discovered market gardening. She started farming full-time in 2019, focusing on high-density planting on small acreage.

Practices

Good Seed Garden employs chemical-free farming methods, avoiding herbicides and pesticides entirely. They practice small-scale crop rotation and create their own compost to maintain a healthy ecosystem. The farm emphasizes producing high-quality food with clean practices, reminiscent of traditional farming methods but with modern tools.

The Rest

The farm sells its products directly off the farm, at the Columbus, Indiana farmer's market, and through online platforms like Market Wagon and Hoosier Harvest Market. They also offer homemade jams, jellies, teas, and salves made from their organic produce. Lorraine plans to focus on homesteading full-time, selling surplus vegetables and homemade goods unless contracted for bulk growing. Follow their farm adventure on Facebook and Instagram for updates.
