About the Farm
Background
The farm's origins trace back to 1909 when Todd’s great-grandparents, FJ and Clara Neumann, purchased the land. Initially used as a homestead and for raising cattle and row crops, the farm has been in the family for six generations. Since 2010, the farm has expanded to other properties in Falls and McLennan County, creating a network of wild spaces for apiaries, cattle herds, and native wildlife.
Practices
Using holistic, pasture-based farming techniques, the farm emphasizes the health of the soil and the ecosystem. Livestock are kept on pasture with frequent rotations, thriving in fresh air, sunshine, and lush grass. Intensive rotational grazing mimics natural patterns, enhancing soil health and supporting a diverse suite of plant species. The farm also maintains multiple apiaries and nurtures wild spaces to foster biodiversity and support pollinators.
The Rest
The farm offers farm tours to connect with customers and showcase their practices. They serve the greater Waco area and surrounding communities in central Texas, providing grass-fed beef, pastured chicken, eggs, and raw honey. Their online store features honey produced in Falls and McLennan Counties. The farm's commitment to local food systems emphasizes the environmental and community benefits of locally raised food.
