About the Farm
Background
Since 2010, Allen, Becky, and their son Zach have continued the legacy of the Law family by rehabilitating the Apple Store and the Creamery, turning their farming dream into reality. Bushy Hill Orchard, part of the farm, boasts approximately 15,000 apple and peach trees, an acre of blueberries, and other fruits and vegetables. The farm also includes a cidery and a greenhouse, previously known as Goodyear Farms, which has been transformed into a vibrant space for plants and flowers.
Practices
Bushy Hill Orchard employs a three-wire trellis system for its apple and peach trees, ensuring optimal growth and fruit production. The farm emphasizes the importance of maintaining healthy soil and plant diversity, which is evident in their wide range of produce including Asian pears, nectarines, plums, and various vegetables. The cidery uses local honey blends to sweeten some of their hard cider varieties, showcasing a commitment to local ingredients.
The Rest
Visitors can enjoy pub-style food and ice cream at the cafe, and sample farm-fresh hard cider at the cidery, which offers three distinct varieties. The greenhouse features an extensive selection of hanging baskets, patio planters, geraniums, mums, and other plants available for retail and wholesale. The farm also hosts special events such as U-Pick apples, Halloween in the corn maze, and Breakfast with Santa, and offers catering services for various occasions.
