About the Farm
Background
The Burchenal family began with a single small grove, cultivating their citrus-growing skills and developing a passion for heirloom fruit. Over time, they expanded to become one of the largest independent citrus growers in Florida, now managing over 300 acres and producing 14 varieties of citrus. The farm has since diversified to include blueberries, peaches, pomegranates, and lemons, as well as a wide range of vegetables and herbs.
Practices
The farm employs a diverse range of cultivation practices to manage its extensive variety of crops. They maintain a large garden and greenhouse where they grow numerous types of vegetables including multiple varieties of broccoli, cauliflower, kale, lettuce, and tomatoes, among others. The farm also offers a CSA program, providing members with weekly or bi-weekly produce packages during the growing season.
The Rest
Citrus and other produce are available for purchase at the Grove store and can be shipped during the regular season. The CSA program runs from December until April, with packages available for pick up on Saturdays. Members receive a tote bag with their first pick up, which they exchange for a new one each week.
